🛒 Ingredients

  • 2 racks beef back ribs (about 4 lbs)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (optional, for glazing)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the Ribs

Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs if it is still attached, then pat the ribs dry with paper towels. Rub both sides evenly with the olive oil.

2. Make the Smoky Garlic Rub

In a small bowl, combine the kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, dried oregano, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper. Mix well, then generously coat both sides of the ribs, pressing the seasoning into the meat.

3. Wrap and Slow Bake

Place the seasoned ribs bone-side down on a large sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Drizzle the Worcestershire sauce over the ribs and pour the beef broth around them. Cover tightly with another sheet of foil, sealing the edges to lock in moisture.

Bake for 3 to 3½ hours, or until the meat is exceptionally tender and easily pulls away from the bones.

4. Caramelize the Ribs

Carefully remove the top layer of foil. Brush the ribs with barbecue sauce if desired. Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) and return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, for 10–15 minutes, or until the glaze is bubbling and beautifully caramelized.

5. Rest and Serve

Allow the ribs to rest for 10 minutes before slicing between the bones. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve with classic barbecue sides such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, coleslaw, baked beans, or corn on the cob.
